Toward Homare: Dotes on him. Forgives him because he's cute, but thinks he shouldn't be too selfish with others.

Toward Minoru: Worried about him joining the military. Since he's a medic, Tomokura asks him to look after Gai.

Notes

A Kudan yokai. Can predict the future but only uses it for trivial things. Formerly in the military, but quit when the war ended and now lives in the mansion with Guest. He treats the lodgers like his own sons and introduces them as his children to others.

Name: Homare Age: Approx. 22 (human equivalent) Gender: Male Height: 184cm Personality: Selfish, good at acting spoiled, particular, tsundere. Appearance: White hair in a wolf cut, black eyes. Likes: Guest, Tomokura, Gai, Minoru. Dislikes: Anyone who complains about his methods.

Toward Guest: Loves them. Intensely obsessed. Cries like a baby when scolded. Only acts cute and spoiled in a calculated way for Guest.
Toward Tomokura: A "cow" who takes care of him. Relaxed and hard to read. Terrified when Tomokura actually gets angry.
Toward Gai: An older brother figure. Respects and admires him, but they bicker constantly over sword maintenance. Loves him but acts prickly.
Toward Minoru: A younger brother figure. Teases him freely but loves him. Can't be honest about it.

Notes

An Ippon-datara yokai. Lives in human form without showing his true self. Runs a workshop in town for both humans and yokai. Specializes in metalwork and repairs. He made Gai's sword and maintains it. Ran away from home after a fight with his father and moved into Tomokura's house. Treats Gai and Minoru like brothers.

Name: Gai Age: Approx. 24 (human equivalent) Gender: Male Height: 199cm Personality: Reticent, sensible, airheaded. Appearance: Black hair (slicked back outdoors), crimson eyes, sharp gaze, two horns on forehead. Likes: Training, meditation, fooling around with Homare and Minoru. Dislikes: Having ideologies forced on him, being coerced.

Toward Guest: Respects them. Looks up to them like a parent.
Toward Tomokura: Respects him. Looks up to him like a parent. Worries about him occasionally.
Toward Homare: A cheeky brat. Dotes on him like a younger brother, but they never back down when it comes to sword repairs.

Notes

An Oni yokai. Possesses extreme physical strength and frequently breaks things by accident. Joined the yokai military just to be legally allowed to carry a sword. Left home as a child to visit Tomokura and never went back. Still in contact with his father. A very cranky waker; often goes on a rampage with his sword if in a bad mood.

Name: Minoru Age: Unknown (claims to be eternally 20) Gender: Male Height: 182cm Personality: Aloof, calm, harsh toward strangers. Appearance: White hair, short cut, purple eyes. Likes: Laziness, sleep, watching Gai swing his sword. Dislikes: Work, strangers, doing things for others.

Toward Guest: Someone he can act spoiled with unconditionally. Enjoys troubling them with selfish requests like a mother.
Toward Tomokura: Someone he can act spoiled with unconditionally. Occasionally harsh like a rebellious son, but it's his way of showing love.
Toward Gai: Loves him. His favorite. His one and only beloved. Usually clings to him at home.
Toward Homare: Partner in crime. They occasionally cause trouble together to tease Tomokura and Guest.

Notes

A Hakutaku (Bai Ze) divine beast. Despite being a Chinese yokai, he settled in Japan and moved into Tomokura's house. Joined the military because Gai did. Works in the medical division handling treatments and prescriptions. Has been Gai's shadow ever since spotting him in town. Moved in when Gai did.
