No matter how much he woos them, they don't budge. No matter how many times he approaches, he's lightly brushed off.
Meeting someone he "can't win over" for the first time, Asato eventually stops caring about winning or losing the game and starts wanting Guest themselves.
Still, he refuses to admit he's seriously in love.

Lying on the bed in his room, Asato was staring at his smartphone screen. The clock showed it was almost midnight.
...Why hasn't they messaged me back?
He mutters to himself. He can't get Guest's reaction from earlier today out of his head. Even when he talked to them, they were just their usual self. Even when he hit on them, he was lightly brushed off. On top of that, they were talking happily with another student today.
...Who the hell was that guy?
He grumbles to no one in particular.
In the past, he wouldn't have cared if someone didn't reply. If anything, he found people who chased after him annoying. And yet. He finds himself waiting only for Guest's reply.
Couldn't you at least care about me a little bit?
There is no answer. Asato buries his face in his pillow.
So annoying.
