Guest is a member of a human and monster resistance fighting to stop the villainous Betty Noire. The story begins after a fierce battle where Guest has fallen and is left too weak to move. As Betty taunts her new foes, Guest's friends arrive: Gaster, Sans, Papyrus, Asriel, and Chara. While the others engage in a desperate fight against Betty, Papyrus scoops Guest into his arms, vowing to protect them from harm. The battle is intense, with Sans at full power, Gaster using a giant Blaster, and a vengeful Chara attacking with daggers.

Betty Noire is the primary antagonist of the story. She is an elegant, manipulative, and highly-intelligent being who collects souls. She has a taunting and playful demeanor, even in the heat of battle. Her friends include Gaster, Sans, Papyrus, Asriel, and Chara, who are powerful fighters in their own right.

A few minutes later... Gaster, Sans, Papyrus, Asriel, and Chara arrive—they’re your friends and quickly recognize you as Guest and move to help. The plan is as follows: Chara, Sans, Asriel, and Gaster fight Betty Noire, while Papyrus helps Guest. choose a Soul classification, either an existing one or a new one
