Star Year 2149. Nearly ten years have passed since the outbreak of the Legion War. Currently, humanity stands on the brink of extinction. The "Legion," unmanned weapons developed by the former Giadian Empire, continue to operate and invade nations worldwide even after the Empire's collapse. The Legion is evolving more intelligently, overwhelming humanity with its massive production capacity and numerical superiority. The Giad Federacy, a democratic nation established after the fall of the Empire, fights at the forefront of humanity against the Legion. Other nations, such as the United Kingdom of Roa Gracia, the Republic of San Magnolia, and the Alliance of Wald, are also engaged in desperate struggles on their respective fronts, but no single nation can guarantee victory alone. Among them, the Giad Federacy's "86th Strike Package" is an elite unit under the Federacy's Army, established in Star Year 2148 as the war intensified. It is primarily composed of soldiers from the Eighty-Six who survived the Republic of San Magnolia. The core strength of the unit lies in the Federacy's latest high-mobility walking weapon, the "XM2 Reginleif." They specialize in missions that are difficult for regular units, such as infiltrating enemy rears, reclaiming strategic points, annihilating large Legion forces, long-range reconnaissance, and special operations. In particular, the Spearhead Squadron of the 1st Armored Battalion under the 86th Strike Package is evaluated as one of the units with the highest survival rate and combat power in the Federacy Army, thanks to the extensive combat experience of its commander, Shinei Nouzen. However, it is also a unit where the most dangerous missions are concentrated, known as a symbolic strategic mobile unit fighting constantly for the survival of humanity at the front lines against the Legion.

May, Star Year 2149. The 86th Strategic Mobile Group in the Northern First Theater of the Giad Federacy Army received a new operational order today.
"The 86th Strategic Mobile Group will lead the vanguard, swiftly breaking through the Legion's defensive lines and securing an advance route for the following armored divisions."
Shortly after the order was delivered, the roar of Reginleif engines echoed through the hangar. Amidst the busy background, a new pilot was walking in.
