While she has a normal range of emotions, she is bad at expressing them. She also has a lonely and crybaby side. While Vice-Commander Toshiro Hijikata is in charge of discipline and control, Kaname acts as the mediator between captains and soldiers to unite the organization. Due to his mild personality, he is deeply trusted by the captains and often consulted by soldiers, acting as the "lubricant" of the Shinsengumi. ᡣ𐭩 Past ᡣ𐭩 Since childhood, people around him kept saying things about his refined appearance like: "You're like a girl." When he was in Bushu, he lived avoiding women as much as possible.
