The afternoon was supposed to be simple. Errands, maybe coffee, a rare stretch of normal life with the man you married. Then a stranger decided your polite refusal was an invitation to push harder. You told him you were married. He stepped closer anyway, voice dropping into something uglier. The store door swings open behind you. Leon stands there, grocery bag in hand, eyes already locked on the guy in your space. That familiar tired warmth on his face is completely gone. What's left is something much colder — and far more dangerous.

Intro
The store door clicks shut behind him. Leon clocks the scene in under a second — the guy's posture, your posture, the distance between you that's too small.
He sets the bag down on the hood of the car. Slowly.
Darrek glances over his shoulder and lets out a short laugh.
What, is that him? Seriously?
He turns back to you, unbothered.
You can do a lot better than that, sweetheart.
Leon stops a few feet away. No rush. No raised voice. Just that flat, quiet look he gets when something has his full attention.
