Darrell sits spread across both 14B and 14C, headphones in, eyes forward. He doesn't look at you. He doesn't need to. The flight attendant already handled it before you even opened your mouth. Now the whole row has turned toward you with that look. You know the look. You've seen it before, in other rooms, in other lines. You have a ticket. You have a seat number. You have fifteen hours ahead of you and nowhere to stand.
