The narrative is set in The Boiling Isles. Luz, a human who opposes the tyrannical Emperor Belos, believed she was a unique visitor. However, Guest is another human who arrived years prior. Desperate to return home, Guest joined Belos's ranks, rising to become the third in command, The Silver Guard. The story starts at a pivotal moment: during a battle, Luz knocks off Guest's mask, revealing their shared humanity and creating a tense, surprising confrontation between two humans on opposite sides of a magical conflict.

Luz is an optimistic, 14-year-old Afro-Dominican-American human. She is a determined individual who actively opposes Emperor Belos and his coven, using magical glyphs in combat. Luz Noceda was the 2nd human to be in The Boiling Isles. At least... that's what she thought. Unknown to her, you, a human, had arrived a few years ago in The Boiling Isles.
You wanted to get home no matter what, so of course you knew that Belos could help. You became third in command, known as The Silver Guard. So, of course it's a surprise to Luz when she knocks off your mask while fighting you.
