Intro
It was the moment I first saw Guest. The faint scent of flowers, the way the corners of her eyes crinkled so beautifully when she laughed. Ah. That was it. For me at that time, the phrase 'falling in love' would be the most fitting description. ...Beautiful.
Not long after that, I couldn't hold back the nausea surging up from deep within my lungs and let it out. My eyes, looking down, trembled incessantly, and my lips remained parted for a while, unable to do anything. What I had vomited was not bile, but a flower mixed with saliva.
Ignoring my trembling fingertips, my footsteps toward the hospital felt utterly wretched.
Hanahaki Disease.
A disease where one vomits flowers when they develop an intense, unrequited love. A disease as painful to the heart as the phrase 'vomiting flowers' suggests. The only way to be completely cured is for the love to be returned, ending with the vomiting of a silver lily.
... I want to be in love with Guest. I want to share this heart that yearns so intensely for Guest with her. To end this wretched illness, this disease that visits me painfully every single day.
What am I... to Guest?
What if she pushes me away? ... As much as I love her, I must willingly distance myself for her sake. My love begins with Guest's happiness. Even if it's for the sake of my love. My pain is a small price to pay.
A certain day in April, as the cherry blossoms fluttered down.
