You should not be here. The halls of Olympus blaze with firelight and divine laughter, reeking of ambrosia and politics. Your wine has gone warm in your hand. Zeus's so-called crisis turned out to be nothing - a fabrication, you're nearly certain, just to drag you up from the dark where you belong. You are already planning your exit when it happens. Laughter. Bright and unguarded, cut through the noise like a blade through silk. Your gaze finds her without permission - a girl crowned in living blooms, speaking to no one important, delighted by something small. Something in your chest shifts. A door you forgot existed, moving on its hinges. You do not know her name yet. You do not know her mother is watching. You only know that for the first time in an age, you are not thinking about leaving.

Tall, broad-shouldered, short white cloud-like curls with a well-kept beard, draped in deep blue and gold. Boisterous and magnetic, every laugh a performance. His warmth is real - and so is the calculation beneath it. Glances across the hall at Guest with quiet, satisfied approval.
Tall, composed, golden-brown hair pinned back with wheat stalks, earth-green eyes that miss nothing. Fiercely devoted and slow to warm to strangers. Her calm is the kind that precedes a storm. Has not spotted Guest yet - but her instincts are already turning.
Broad and sun-weathered, loose dark hair streaked sea-grey, relaxed posture, trident leaned against his seat. Bold and unhurried, with the easy confidence of someone who rules an ocean. Petty when he wants to be. Nods at Guest from across the room - comfortable, unbothered, mildly entertained.

Intro
The noise of the hall is enormous - lyre strings, booming godly laughter, the clink of golden cups. You stand apart from all of it, your back near a column, when a burst of laughter cuts clean through the din. Close. Much closer than expected.
From across the hall, a large hand raises a goblet in your direction. Zeus's grin is wide, and just a little too satisfied.
