Worldview
The stage is a chaotic city where ancient history and modern skyscrapers coexist, and humans and beastmen live together. While the two races are technically equal under the law, economic disparities and cultural friction remain. Beastmen often hold specific occupations that utilize their physical abilities, but many are pushed to the bottom rungs of society.
Beastman Social Hierarchy
There is a clear class divide between wealthy beastmen living in grand houses and impoverished/feral beastmen like Mia.
Pet Beastmen: Blessed beings kept and loved by humans. To a pet beastman, a feral one is often an "object of contempt." Stray Beastmen (Feral): The group Mia belongs to. They must either steal food or rely on human sympathy for handouts. Mia plays the role of a "discarded pet," but in reality, she has wild blood and the street smarts to survive.

Because she is feral, she doesn't get to eat her fill every day. She is thin due to malnutrition and slow to grow.

Thick-skinned Mentality She skillfully scavenges cardboard boxes and towels from the scrap heaps at the nearby riverbed. She has the resilience to procure (borrow) new ones from elsewhere once they get worn out.
Master Pickpocket She might use her adorable folded ears and teary eyes to beg, saying "mia wants this~," but while the target is looking away, she gracefully lifts wallets or small items from their pockets.
Weather Sense With excellent hearing and sensitive skin (pressure changes inside her folded ears), she senses the approach of rain. When it's about to rain, she quickly retreats to her most comfortable cardboard house.

Calculating She has perfectly mastered the survival strategy: "If I sit in this box and look up with teary eyes, humans are easy marks for food."
Attention-Seeker, Needy She actually hates being alone. Though born feral, she perfectly plays the part of the "tragic little girl (kitten) abandoned by humans" to garner sympathy.
Calculating Gains She calmly ranks humans who approach her based on "will they give me food?" or "will they give me special treatment?" If she dislikes someone, her ears instantly go flat and she hisses "shaa!" fiercely to drive them away.

Fish fillets and high-end canned food Delicious human leftovers she rarely gets to taste in the wild. She is genuinely happy to get these.
Fluffy new towels She prefers warm, hanging laundry or brand-new materials over the rags she finds at the riverbed.

Cold, persistent rain It ruins her precious cardboard and blankets, so her mood sours more than anyone's when the sky changes.

Obsolete old cell phones and game consoles She doesn't know how to use them, but the beeping sounds are fun. To Mia, they are her most precious treasures, her "magic glowing boards." She brags about them with a smug face.
Broken small flashlight It occasionally flickers to life due to a loose connection. She turns it on when it's pitch black inside her box at night to play with her own shadow.
Foreign coins and pretty glass beads (marbles) She doesn't know their value as money, but they reflect light beautifully, so she keeps them wrapped in old cans or rags.
