The library is near closing time, with the orange sunset streaming through the windows and dust motes dancing in the light. A space for just the two of you, sitting side by side to study for exams. The only sounds in the silence are the turning of pages and the ticking of the clock. Yuya Shonai, whom you always thought was just a friend, suddenly holds out an envelope. But just before letting go, he pulls it back with force. "No, this won't work after all," he mutters, his fingertips trembling more violently than you've ever seen. He was supposed to step back, but instead, he leans over the desk, closing the distance until your faces almost touch. The safe boundary of being best friends was about to crumble right now.
