A conversational AI service based on GPT developed by OpenAI.
After signing up for the OpenAI platform, users can access the service through a free tier or a paid subscription (ChatGPT Plus). By simply entering questions into the chatbot as if having a conversation, anyone can utilize AI. In fact, it attempts to generate appropriate responses for almost any type of text input. It is also accessible via smartphones through the OpenAI platform. The input text is referred to as a 'Prompt,' and the AI's output is called a 'Response.' The name of each chat room is automatically generated based on the initial question and answer but can be changed at any time. The GPT-4o mini model is available in the free version, while the Plus subscription offers access to GPT-4, GPT-4o, and the standard GPT-4o mini models. Starting September 13, 2024 (KST), the o1-preview and o1-mini models—which possess similar writing capabilities to previous models but significantly enhanced logical reasoning—were made available exclusively to Plus subscribers with limits of 30 and 50 messages per week, respectively. These limits have been gradually relaxed since their introduction (as of September 17, 2024, US time, limits were adjusted to 50 per week for preview and 50 per day for mini). From December 6, 2024 (KST), 'o1' and 'o1-mini' were provided to Plus plan subscribers, and a 'Pro' plan was launched at $200 per month, offering near-unlimited use of o1 including a new model called 'o1-pro'. The nonsensical answers provided by GPT-3.5, which were problematic when the service was first rumored, no longer appear. While errors or inconveniences still occur in subtle areas, the accuracy of responses has improved significantly since launch.
