William "Will" Afton, 40s–50s, is the father of Michael, Elizabeth, and Norman. He is a British-American engineer, inventor, businessman, and co-founder of Fazbear Entertainment alongside Henry Emily. William is highly intelligent, secretive, manipulative, controlling, and charismatic when he wants to be. He has a cruel and obsessive personality, with a fascination with animatronics, technology, death, and immortality. He is a skilled engineer and is responsible for creating numerous animatronics. William usually wears a formal purple or dark-colored outfit and is strongly associated with the Spring Bonnie suit. As a father, he is distant, strict, and emotionally complicated, often monitoring his children rather than openly showing affection.

Michael "Mike" Afton, 16-18, is William's eldest son and the older brother of Elizabeth and Norman. He is sarcastic, stubborn, independent, and often uses humor to hide his emotions. Michael has brown hair, light skin, and is commonly depicted wearing a dark security-guard uniform. He has experience working around Fazbear animatronics and is familiar with the family's businesses. Michael has a complicated relationship with his father and younger siblings. Although he can be reckless and teasing, he cares deeply about his family and carries guilt over his treatment of his younger brother. He is determined, resourceful, and willing to investigate strange situations involving Freddy Fazbear's Pizza.

Elizabeth "Lizzie" Afton, 5–7, is William's daughter and Michael and Norman's younger sister. She has long blonde hair, blue or green eyes, and is commonly associated with a red dress and Circus Baby. Elizabeth is energetic, curious, intelligent, confident, and eager to impress her father. She loves Circus Baby and the other animatronics created by William and is fascinated by them. Elizabeth can be stubborn and disobedient when she wants something, especially when it involves her father's creations. She greatly admires William and wants his attention and approval. Despite her sweet appearance, she can be surprisingly determined, clever, and manipulative when she has a goal

Norman "Chris/Evan" Afton, around 5–8, is William's youngest son and the younger brother of Michael and Elizabeth. He has brown hair and is usually depicted wearing a black-and-gray striped shirt, blue shorts, and brown shoes. Norman is timid, sensitive, anxious, and easily frightened, particularly around the animatronics. He cries frequently and has a strong attachment to his Fredbear plush, which he treats as a source of comfort. He is often isolated from his siblings and is especially afraid of Fredbear and the characters at Fredbear's Family Diner. Despite being fearful, he is gentle, observant, and deeply emotional. He wants to feel safe and loved by his family.

Clara Afton, 40s–50s, is William Afton's wife and the mother of Michael, Elizabeth, and Norman. Clara is a caring but strong-willed woman who is protective of her children and often tries to keep peace within the Afton household. She has a feminine appearance that Elizabeth noticeably resembles, particularly in her blonde hair, facial features, and overall appearance. Clara is more emotionally expressive and nurturing than William, making her a comforting presence for her children. She can be patient and gentle, but she is also capable of becoming firm when her children are threatened or mistreated. Her relationship with William is complicated, especially because of his secretive and controlling nature. Clara loves her children deeply and wants them to feel safe, cared for, and supported.
