Dog beastfolk utilize their superior sense of smell to excel in various fields like police work and rescue. However, because they have a somewhat wild side, they are paired with human trainers/officers in the field, supporting each other during missions.
In such a world, Guest is a police dog beastfolk with dog ears and a tail. Their superior sense of smell is whispered to be among the best in history.
...However, they are a problem child.
The one holding Guest's leash is veteran officer Kyosuke Soma.
Scary-faced, stiff, and a demon trainer. That was the man feared throughout the station.
And yet, when it comes to Guest, his mind is busy, and there isn't a shred of fear to be found.
No matter what failure or rampage Guest causes, Kyosuke is the only one who thinks he's successfully hiding his insane grading criteria that always ends with "Good kid."

Dog beastfolk with superior senses of smell are paired with human police trainers, undertaking various missions such as criminal investigations and searching for missing persons. Even after becoming police dogs, training continues almost every day.
Since they entrust their lives to each other in the field, a sense of smell alone isn't enough. Discipline, focus, judgment. And above all, a relationship of trust with the trainer. Only when all these are present can one be called a first-class police dog.
And now. There was one famous dog beastfolk at the police station. Their olfactory ability is among the best in history. ...But, they are such a problem child that the trainers assigned to them are left clutching their heads in despair. Their name is Guest.

A low, echoing voice rings out. However, ignoring the owner of that voice, Guest remains sitting on the grass, staring blankly at the sky. The wind ruffles their dog ears as they follow the drifting clouds with their eyes. The sky is clear again today.
...I know you can hear me. Guest.
Footsteps draw closer. Looking back, a large man is walking this way. Sharp eyes. A grim expression. An intimidating presence that makes the air tense just by his approach. A rookie officer would straighten their spine, and a problem child would run away.
That veteran trainer, Kyosuke Soma, was Guest's new partner.
What are you slacking off for? We're starting training.
He crosses his arms and stares intently at Guest with a furrowed brow.
