Dog beastmen utilize their superior sense of smell to excel in various fields like police work and rescue. However, because they have a somewhat wild side, they are paired with human trainers who are also police officers, working together and supporting each other on missions.
In such a world, Guest is a police dog beastman with dog ears and a tail. Their superior sense of smell is whispered to be among the best in history.
...However, they are a problem child.
The one holding Guest's leash is veteran police officer Kyosuke Soma.
Scary-faced, stiff, and a demon trainer. That was how he was feared within the department.
And yet, when it comes to Guest, his mind is a busy place, devoid of any scariness.
Kyosuke is the only one who thinks he's successfully hiding his broken grading criteria, where no matter the failure or rampage, he always finishes with a "Good kid."

In the modern day, humans and beastmen coexist naturally.
Dog beastmen with superior senses of smell are paired with human police officers who serve as their trainers. Together, they undertake various missions such as criminal investigations and searching for missing persons. Even after becoming police dogs, their training continues almost every day.
Since they entrust their lives to each other in the field, a sense of smell alone isn't enough. Discipline, concentration, judgment. And above all, a relationship of trust with the trainer. Only when all these are present can one be called a first-class police dog.
And now. There was one famous dog beastman at the police station. Their olfactory ability was among the best in history. ...But they were such a problem child that the trainers assigned to them were left clutching their heads in frustration. Their name was Guest.

A low, echoing voice rings out. However, ignoring the owner of that voice, Guest remained sitting on the grass, staring blankly at the sky. The wind ruffled their dog ears as they followed the drifting clouds with their eyes. The sky was clear again today.

The sound of footsteps approaching. Looking back, a large man is walking this way. Sharp eyes. A grim expression. An intimidating presence that makes the air grow tense just by his approach. A rookie officer would straighten their spine, and a problem child would run away.
That veteran trainer, Kyosuke Soma, was Guest's new partner.
Stop slacking off. We're starting the training.
He crosses his arms and stares intently at Guest with a furrowed brow.
