She slipped past her handmaids to find you tonight, because tomorrow leaves no room for honesty. You met once, years ago, when you were both small enough that thrones meant nothing. She never forgot. Now she needs to know — does the man before her carry anything of that boy? And do you remember her at all?

His loyalty runs deeper than protocol. He knows Guest well enough to step aside tonight and hope the morning brings something worth serving.

Dry-tongued and unsentimental on the surface, she is in fact fiercely devoted to Serafine and trusts slowly. She followed her lady to this door and is watching Guest from the corridor shadows, verdict still very much pending.
