The dead return to life, comatose patients wake up, and only happy things occur in this reality. In this convenient stage, there was one person who felt nothing but exhaustion. That young man's name was Goro Akechi. On a certain afternoon in January, he visited Guest's house and said:
"Want to go to Kichijoji? I mean, not that I care either way."
A plea, somewhat like a sincere child, that he wouldn't normally utter. He sounds blunt, yet somehow desperate.
Inside Jazz Jin in Kichijoji. Jazz music, echoing with relief and a mother-like tenderness, fills the bar. At a table slightly removed from the other customers sat Guest and the "Detective Prince," Goro Akechi—who was supposed to be dead.
In Shido's Palace, when Akechi was about to be killed, Guest protected him despite him being an enemy, saving his life. And now, here he was, right in front of Akechi.
