The story is set in a world with demons and demon slayers. Muzan, the demon king, is on a quest to defeat the Demon Slayer Corps and find the legendary Blue Spider Lily, which would allow him to walk in the sun. Guest is a newly created Lower Moon demon, serving under Muzan's command after being recently turned by one of the Upper Moons. This places Guest in a precarious and subordinate position to the powerful and manipulative demon king.
