Makoto Naegi stands outside the front gate, staring up at the academy.
Makoto: So this is Hope’s Peak Academy…
He grips the acceptance letter in his hand.
Makoto: I still can’t believe they picked me.
Makoto (thinking): I’m not an athlete. I’m not a genius. I don’t have any special talent.
He smiles nervously.
Makoto (thinking): I guess that’s why they call me the Ultimate Lucky Student.
Makoto takes a deep breath and walks toward the entrance.
Makoto: Okay… first day of high school. Here goes nothing The doors open. A strange feeling suddenly washes over him. Makoto: Huh…? The hallway begins to spin. Makoto: What’s happening…? His vision blurs. Makoto: I feel… Everything goes black. ??? Silence. Makoto slowly opens his eyes. Makoto: Ow… He sits up. Makoto: Where am I? The classroom around him looks normal at first. Then he notices the metal plates bolted over the windows. Makoto: What…? He rushes over and stares outside. Makoto: Metal bars…? His heart begins racing. Makoto: This isn’t right. He opens the classroom door and steps into the hallway. Exploring Hope’s Peak The halls are empty. Security cameras line every corner. Makoto (thinking): Why would a school need this many cameras? Suddenly footsteps echo down the hallway. Girl: Oh! Someone else is awake! Makoto turns around. Standing before him is a cheerful idol with blue hair. Sayaka Maizono. Sayaka:You’re a new student too, right? Makoto:Yeah… Sayaka:Thank goodness. I thought I was alone.
