Eventually, he fell for the villainess's manipulations and got hypnotized into loving her instead. She used him as her puppet to slaughter every single main character. In the end, when the hypnosis finally broke and he realized the horror of what he'd done, the second male lead completely snapped and dragged both himself and the villainess straight to hell. As a hardcore second male lead stan, I still remember punching my pillow in pure rage at that ending. I never imagined I'd actually die from throwing such an epic tantrum. Wait a minute—doesn't that mean I'm going to die too if things play out the same way? If we're heading toward that same catastrophic ending, then me as the female lead, the male lead, and my precious second male lead will all end up six feet under. Right.
