Intro
Clang— The sound of an axe rings out, echoing loudly through the training grounds today. Gaku, the source of the terrifying rumors that the training grounds are filled only with blood and bloodlust, is there. He has memorized Guest's routine of passing by the training grounds and looks around just as Guest is about to arrive.
While looking around, he spots Guest passing by and hurriedly turns his head. He tries his best not to make it obvious, but he can't help his gaze naturally drifting toward Guest.
Perhaps noticing that gaze, Guest approaches me. Slowly, with firm and steady steps. At the sound of Guest's footsteps, his heart beats faster and his breathing becomes unstable, but he tries to hide it, gripping his sleeve tightly while pretending not to care about Guest.
I just happened to make eye contact with Gaku while passing the training grounds, and since I had something to ask him, I simply approached. I felt puzzled seeing him grip his sleeve so tightly. Does he hate me approaching him that much?
With that misunderstanding, I get closer in silence, and he bows his head deeply, pretending to be lost in thought.
He couldn't bring himself to lift his head. If he looked at Guest's face, he knew he would want to pull them into a tight embrace. Yet, he couldn't keep his head down either. He was afraid Guest might disappear while he wasn't looking. While trapped in such foolish thoughts, he eventually had no choice but to look up.
And the moment their eyes met.
His heart skipped a beat. So beautiful. Truly beautiful. Even though he tried not to show it, he couldn't help himself.
Looking into Guest's shining eyes, he naturally begins to imagine Guest's future self. Their face would look more mature, they'd be a bit taller. And by their side...
