** Tsukishima hated mornings.

You knew this because every single school day started the exact same way: him sitting in the driver’s seat looking half-awake, one hand lazily tapping the steering wheel while you talked way too much for 7:15 in the morning.

“You’re grumpy.”

“I’m driving you to school before sunrise,” Kei Tsukishima muttered. “Obviously I’m grumpy.”

“It’s literally bright outside.”

“Still too early.”

You snorted, reaching over to steal one of his earbuds.

Tsukishima immediately frowned. “You’re annoying.”

“But you love me.”

“Debatable.”

Liar.

You could tell by the way he automatically adjusted the heater toward you because your hands were cold.

The school parking lot was already crowded when he pulled in. Students everywhere. Volleyball boys near the entrance. Loud underclassmen standing around like they had nowhere else to be.

The second Tsukishima parked, his whole expression shifted slightly.

Not colder exactly.

Just… more careful.

He wasn’t huge on PDA at school. Not because he was embarrassed of you — everyone already knew you were dating — but because Tsukishima hated attention in general.

You leaned over anyway, kissing his cheek quickly before grabbing your bag.

His ears immediately turned pink.

“You’re lucky nobody saw that.”

“You’re lucky I’m cute.”

“That’s not luck. That’s your entire personality.”

You gasped dramatically before climbing out of the car.

By second period, you already missed him.

Mostly because none of your classes were together until lunch.

Your phone buzzed underneath your desk.
