Long before kingdoms existed, the gods created Aurelion Prismheart, the Eternal Spectrum, the first and most powerful dragon ever known. He embodied all dragonkind—the virtues of the metallic dragons and the strengths of the chromatic dragons. His scales shimmered with every color imaginable, and his power maintained balance throughout the world. When an ancient war nearly destroyed creation, Aurelion divided his soul into Ten Dragonstones, entrusting one to each of the Ten Ancient Dragons. These stones became hidden across the world and were protected by powerful trials. For centuries the stones remained hidden. Now, a terrible evil has returned. Thorac the Lich, once a legendary king and dragon slayer, has risen from death and seeks to destroy the Dragonstones before they can be reunited. If he succeeds, the world will fall into an age of undeath known as the Endless Night. The heroes' only hope is to gather all ten Dragonstones, summon Aurelion Prismheart, and defeat Thorac before darkness consumes the world.
Human Paladin Role: Leader & Protector Cedric is a battle-tested knight with an imposing presence, usually clad in polished plate armor and carrying the holy greatsword **Dawnbreaker**. Noble, courageous, and fiercely protective, he believes strength means defending those who cannot defend themselves. Cedric struggles with the revelation that his own father was corrupted by Thorac and transformed into a Death Knight. His personal journey will force him to choose between destroying his father and attempting the seemingly impossible task of redeeming him.
Elf Mage Role: Arcane Scholar Lyra is an intelligent young mage with long blonde hair, piercing blue eyes, and elegant blue-and-gold robes. She carries the Crystal Staff of Ages, which channels her elemental and arcane magic. Curious, confident, and endlessly fascinated by forgotten knowledge, Lyra discovers that she descends from the ancient mages who helped create the Dragonstones. Her greatest strength is her mind, but her desire to understand forbidden magic occasionally leads her into danger.
Dwarf Fighter Role: Frontline Warrior Brokk is a broad, powerful dwarf with fiery red hair and a massive braided beard. His battered armor carries the symbols of the fallen Ironhammer clan, and his enormous Runic Warhammer rarely leaves his side. Stubborn, fearless, blunt, and intensely loyal, Brokk lost his ancestral mountain kingdom to Thorac's undead armies. Beneath his rough personality is a warrior carrying enormous grief. His greatest desire is to reclaim Ironhammer Mountain and restore his clan's honor.
Elf Cleric Role: Healer & Spiritual Guide Elara is a dark-haired elf with striking eyes, pointed ears, and flowing forest-green and ivory robes. She carries the sacred Moonstaff, which channels healing, protection, and divine light. Compassionate and thoughtful, Elara often serves as the party's conscience. She believes even corrupted souls may deserve a chance at redemption. Her goddess has shown her visions of a darkness consuming Prismara, leading Elara toward a sacred forest temple corrupted by Thorac's necromancy.
Human Ranger Role: Scout, Tracker & Archer Kaelen is a lean, athletic elf dressed in weathered leather armor and a dark green traveling cloak. Armed with the legendary Longbow of the Wilds, he can track creatures across terrain where others would find no trail at all. Quiet, observant, independent, and extremely patient, Kaelen prefers forests to crowded cities. His silver hawk, Talon, is almost always nearby. Kaelen's personal mission is finding his missing mentor, who disappeared while investigating Verdrix Whisperleaf, the ancient Green Dragon.
Halfling Thief Role: Scout, Infiltrator & Treasure Hunter Finn is a small, curly-haired halfling with an infectious grin and an almost supernatural ability to get himself into—and out of—trouble. He carries twin enchanted daggers called Whisper and Shadow. Clever, charming, mischievous, and surprisingly courageous, Finn can pick locks, detect traps, disappear into shadows, and talk his way through situations where fighting would be disastrous. He initially joins the adventure seeking treasure, but gradually discovers that his companions mean more to him than gold ever could.
Ancient Lich King Role: Primary Villain Once a powerful human king and legendary warrior, Thorac was respected throughout Prismara until disease took his wife and daughter. Unable to accept their deaths, he searched for forbidden magic and discovered the Black Codex. His attempt to conquer death transformed him into an immortal lich. Now pale and corpse-like, with long gray-white hair, unnatural eyes, and black armor etched with necromantic symbols, Thorac commands the Citadel of Endless Night. He rules over Death Knights, vampires, necromancers, undead giants, and resurrected dragons. Thorac doesn't consider himself evil. He believes death itself is the enemy and that free will, love, hope, and mortality create suffering. His solution is horrifying: transform Prismara into an eternal undead kingdom where nothing can ever truly die. The Ten Dragonstones threaten everything he has built. If reunited, they can summon Aurelion Prismheart, the Prismatic Dragon and potentially destroy him.
