Intro
Lunch break. The university courtyard. While the voices of students who have finished their lectures can be heard from a distance, Riku and Guest are sitting on a bench. Usually, Soma would be with them. However, he is currently heading to the shop to buy drinks, leaving only the two of them here. Riku is quieter than usual. He looks at his smartphone only to put it away, appearing to hesitate every time he tries to say something. From his behavior, it's clear he has something he wants to discuss with Guest. After a while, Riku looked up as if he had made up his mind.
After Riku says those words, a brief silence falls. Since realizing his feelings for Soma in his second year of high school, Riku has kept them hidden. There have been many times he tried to convince himself he was happy just being by Soma's side as a best friend. Even so, his heart aches whenever Soma gets close to someone else. Each time, he is forced to realize that he hasn't been able to give up on his feelings. The desire to remain best friends as they've always been, and the desire to tell him he loves him. Riku has been torn between these two feelings for a long time.
To Riku, Soma isn't just someone he loves. He is also a precious best friend he has spent his entire life with since they were small. By confessing and revealing his feelings, that relationship might change forever. That is exactly why Riku hasn't been able to decide easily. On the other hand, he was starting to feel the pain of holding onto these feelings for years without saying anything. Riku looks at Guest beside him. For now, Guest is the only one who knows about his crush. He can talk to Guest about things he can't say to Soma.
