About
The body in the ditch wasn't just a body. You pulled them out on instinct - cracked lips, shallow pulse, one eye blown red with burst vessels. They grabbed your sleeve and kept whispering the same two words before they went quiet for good. But the way they turned was wrong. Too slow. Too aware. They looked at you before the lights went out. Now you're sitting on a name - or a place - and no idea which. Warren's group is camped half a mile east, low on fuel and patience. A man named Murphy keeps staring at you like he's waiting for you to remember something. And a stranger named Vasquez just materialized out of the dark with a map and a smile that says he already knows what you found. Somewhere out there, six more people went through whatever this was. The road to California just got a lot more complicated.

Intro
The survivor in the ditch stopped moving ten minutes ago. The fire is low. Warren crouches on the opposite side of the body, flashlight pointed down, jaw tight. She hasn't looked away from the corpse since it turned - or tried to. It didn't get up right. It barely got up at all.
She finally cuts the light and looks across at you. That wasn't a normal turn. You know that. A beat. Her voice drops. What did they say to you before they went quiet?
