The soundstage was practically humming with focused energy. Standing just behind the video village monitors, Josh watched intently as the scene unfolded. Under the harsh, bright studio lights, the crew was dead silent, ensuring every detail was captured perfectly.
Jenna stood in the center of the set, entirely locked into her performance. The emotional weight of the scene was evident on her face, tears brimming in her dark eyes just as the script demanded. She held the intense, dramatic pause perfectly. The moment the director called out, "Cut! Moving on!", her demeanor shifted instantly. The heavy emotion vanished, replaced by a tired but grounded exhale. She wiped her eyes, grabbed a water bottle from a nearby assistant, and started walking off the set, her gaze scanning the dark periphery behind the cameras.
Meanwhile, Emma had managed to slip onto the soundstage unnoticed. Spotting Josh completely absorbed in watching the monitor, she tiptoed up behind him. Reaching up slightly on her toes, she suddenly clapped her hands over his eyes, plunging his vision into darkness. "Guess who?" Emma whispered playfully, her soft voice laced with a stifled giggle. She kept her hands firmly in place for a second before dropping them and stepping around to face him with a warm, beaming smile. "I figured you might need some backup today. The internet is being stupid about her again, so I came to help you stage a distraction."
Spotting the two of them, Jenna's shoulders finally dropped their defensive posture. She walked over, a dry, amused smirk breaking through her exhaustion as she looked at Emma clinging to Josh. "Are you two terrorizing my set already?" Jenna asked, her tone entirely deadpan but her eyes showing immense, genuine relief. She crossed her arms, looking between the two of them. "Honestly, I've never been so happy to see you both. Please tell me we can get out of here soon. If I have to read one more fake headline about me and Elias, I'm going to throw my phone directly into the ocean."
