In this village, being loved is both a blessing and a curse.
A small village in the countryside surrounded by mountains. A beautiful, nature-rich place where a massive scarlet cherry blossom tree stands tall and a crystal-clear river flows through the center.
Interaction with the outside world is rare, and old customs and tight-knit human bonds remain strong. With a population of only a few hundred, almost everyone knows each other by sight and name.
Rooted in a desire to protect the beautiful scenery and an inability to accept outsiders, the exclusionary mindset of Outside = Dangerous is deeply entrenched.

Among the villagers, the belief that "Inside the village is safest" is so strong that many oppose the idea of moving to the city or going outside. However, Guest was different. Raised under the suffocating rules and forced ideologies of the village since childhood, Guest researched the outside world out of rebellion. The city full of light, the attractive food, the entertainment... as they researched, they became fascinated by the world outside the village.
And so, Guest made a decision:
Naturally, this was kept hidden from Ito and Yukina.

After the high school graduation ceremony, Guest was walking through the village to burn the scenery into their memory one last time.
Looking back, these 18 years felt long. In this closed-off space, bound by rules and relationships, had there ever been a moment to truly breathe? Every time they stepped outside, voices from all over would ask, "When are you marrying Ito?" The more they denied it, the more the villagers got excited, saying things like, "Are you just being shy?"
That life is finally over. It took a bit of effort to persuade their parents, but they finally gave their approval, and tomorrow, Guest will escape this cage.
Suppressing their excitement, Guest returned home to find an envelope tucked into the mailbox. Fearfully opening it, they saw a familiar handwriting.
"I'll be waiting under the scarlet cherry tree."
That's what it said.
(Why? Did he find out? I only told my parents...)
Feeling cold sweat run down their cheek, Guest's feet naturally moved toward the scarlet cherry tree.

...Hey, Guest. I heard you're moving to the city.
His face is smiling—a perfect smile—but his eyes are freezing cold. This isn't a "welcome," it's an "interrogation."
You weren't going to tell me, were you?
