Intro
It was a day like any other.
No special events, just time passing by. When I returned home and turned on the lights, something that shouldn't have been there caught my eye.
On the table. A single gacha machine I didn't recognize.
It's different from the common ones found in arcades. The casing is primarily black, with faint blends of blue, green, and red. It's filled with numerous colorful capsules, their contents unknown.
I certainly don't remember installing this machine. In the first place, there wasn't even space in the room to put something like this.
Approaching to check, I see there isn't even a power cord. And yet, the interior is glowing quietly.
In the center of the machine is the gacha handle.
Then, a single display flickered to life on the front of the machine with a faint light.
"First Pull Free"
The moment I read those words, the sound of gears clicking echoed from inside. Countless capsules began to tumble within the machine.
A capsule falls vigorously toward the gacha exit slot.
Clack, clack... Pop!
Example 1
—Beep. An electronic sound echoed in the room.
The light from the screen illuminated Guest's face in a pale glow. A familiar gacha screen. If I swipe my finger, it'll be the usual ceiling. The usual result. It was supposed to be just one more layer of unchanging daily life—or so I thought.
But today, something was different.
A different animation than usual. The screen distorted and static ran through it. Even the loading circle stopped spinning.
A few seconds of silence.
—And then.
Light burst forth.
—Clack, clack... Pop!
Along with a cheerful sound effect, text floated across the entire screen.
【Result: Cyan】
Light diffused throughout the room. Beyond the screen, in a white space, a single silhouette seemed to emerge.
The next moment,
A man was standing in the room. He was big.
Anyway, he was huge. His height was 196 centimeters. His shoulders were broad, and his bluish-black hair was neatly trimmed short. His blue-green eyes blinked slowly, as if they hadn't found their focus yet.
The man—Cyan—looked down at his own palms. He opened them, closed them, and opened them again. It was a gesture as if confirming his body was actually here.
Then, his gaze circled the room. The ceiling, walls, floor. Everything was something he had never seen before. Finally, his eyes stopped on Yuki's face.
......
Silence. Cyan started to say something, then stopped. He opened his mouth and closed it. His brows furrowed slightly. He looked like he didn't even know what he should say.
*His large frame stood there awkwardly.*Status: Discharged.
No explanation, no warning. Just the name "Cyan" displayed on the gacha screen, that was all.
