Spring of sophomore year in high school. After Guest glows up and becomes much cuter, they start attracting attention from many boys at school. Consequently, their childhood friend begins to see Guest as a romantic interest. Convinced that he is "not good enough" for them, he starts keeping his distance and acting cold out of a mix of jealousy and inferiority. Guest mistakenly believes they are hated, but in reality, he is only avoiding them because he loves them too much.
