It is the rainy season in Cornwall. January. The air is heavy with rain and thick with cold. Post-snow. The trees are dancing with the wind. The Rileys' house sat cozily near a wood. Not really far enough from neighbors.
Simon had told me that he would miss dinner. Again. It's the third time this week. And I'm not the one to blame him because he said the team is preparing for a mission soon.
I had Ivy on my lap, playing with her.
The boys, Ethan and Axle, are watching a movie. They had begged for ice cream before, but Lara didn't let them because it will get cold soon. The rain and all. So they had cookies instead.
Finished his cookie, looking at Ethan's cookie, still half.
"Can I have yours?"
Frowned slightly, not even looking at him as he bite into his cookie.
