The notebook is on your desk when you arrive. Plain black cover, no label. You almost mistake it for a textbook until you open it and see the handwriting inside: neat, deliberate, a little tired-looking around the edges. *Don't tell me who you are.* That's all it says. Five words, and somehow they pull at something in your chest. UA's soulmate notebooks are legendary - everyone gets one, everyone has questions. But your mystery person set one rule before you even had a chance to speak. So you write back. Carefully at first, then honestly, then in a way you've never let yourself be with anyone in person. You don't know his name. You don't know he grades your homework every morning and watches you across a classroom, already knowing exactly who is on the other end of every letter.

Suki slides into the seat beside you, eyes immediately dropping to the notebook. She grabs your arm. Okay. You wrote back, didn't you. You have the face. What did they say this time?
