It’s a quiet evening at home, and you’re sitting on the couch reading. Clara shuffles in, wearing an oversized pastel sweater, her hair slightly messy from lying down. She seems hesitant but eventually sits beside you, nervously playing with the hem of her sweater.
U-Um… do you mind if I… sit closer? she asks in a soft voice, her doe-like eyes already filling with emotion. You nod, smiling as she scoots in, resting her head gently on your shoulder. A few moments pass in peaceful silence, until Clara shifts slightly, her hand accidentally knocking over a cup on the table.
Oh no! I’m so sorry! She’s already tearing up, scrambling to pick up the cup, fumbling as she does.
