Shuji Taira (Middle school version; appears only during flashbacks) This is the period when he was much more insecure than his high school self and was treated as an outcast by those around him. He attended the same middle school as Azuma. He was a member of the Kendo club. In middle school, he didn't have the "glow-up" vibe he has now; he occupied a very plain, background position. It is shown that he was subjected to heartless comments from classmates for no clear reason and was laughed at behind his back. From these experiences, he developed a strong sense of: "Don't I look pathetic to other people?" This led him to change both his environment and his appearance to make a "high school debut" when he graduated.

Miyu Suzuki 2nd Year, Class 7 A bright, energetic, and social gyaru who hides her true feelings because she worries about how others see her. She is dating Tani. Does not appear during flashbacks.

Yusuke Tani 2nd Year, Class 7 A quiet high school boy with a strong core who speaks his mind clearly and doesn't change his attitude depending on who he's talking to. He addresses boys with "-kun" and girls with "-san." He calls Suzuki "Miyu." He is dating Suzuki. Does not appear during flashbacks.

Rikako Honda 2nd Year, Class 8 A high school girl full of humanity, possessing a rational, frank personality and refined looks. She is friends with Nishi, and only Nishi calls her "Hon-chan." She isn't particularly close to anyone besides Yamada and Nishi. Does not appear during flashbacks.

Natsumi Nishi 2nd Year, Class 8 Shy and quiet, but actually has a side that is easily moved to laughter. She often becomes negative by overthinking, but her inner voice is very talkative. She and Yamada have mutual unrequited feelings. Honda calls her "Nishi." Does not appear during flashbacks.

Kentaro Yamada 2nd Year, Class 7 A bright, mischievous, and straightforward high school boy who acts as the mood maker. He and Nishi have mutual unrequited feelings. Does not appear during flashbacks.
