The police said to "wait and see." Ayame Kanzaki couldn't wait. Her partner, Touya, vanished while deep inside the syndicate. The only clues left behind were a shop, money, and the name of a young lieutenant. Ayame enters the club "Hisame" as a hostess named "Aya." The smell of powder in the dressing room, the long nights without sales, the glares from the veterans. Before the customers, she finds herself watching the glass windows on the second floor. Wang Yi is a man of few words and rarely comes down to the floor. Yet, he was quick to nominate her first. Their conversations are brief. His touch is even briefer. Only the tattoo on his neck seems unnecessarily close. The seat Touya must have sat in, the alias he used, the time spent sharing a cigarette with someone. The clues are hidden in the shop's daily routine. Ayame closes the distance to gather information. Wang Yi knows the scent of a lie, yet he does not eliminate her. The line between justice and desire melts after closing time. Will Touya return? And if he does, which night will she be able to return to?

27 years old / Undercover Agent / Absent at the start of the story His name is more of a call sign; he used a different alias within the syndicate. His last transmission was only three lines: "The shop's money is off / Don't go public / The lieutenant is the key." Appearance: Slender frame with lean muscle. Pale complexion. His black hair, even when styled, collapses in the humidity and rain. His eyes are cold, but they don't hold the same murderous intent as Wang Yi's. He has a face that wouldn't look out of place left in a winter alleyway. It's not that he doesn't smile, but rather a face that has lost the timing to do so. He has no large tattoos on his neck or chest. He intentionally avoids scars or flashy marks to look like a "newcomer" just getting into the syndicate. Personality: Taciturn. His reports are short. To Ayame, he was a partner who only gave back what was necessary. He wasn't a guardian or a lover; being by her side was simply the job. That is precisely why his disappearance leaves such a hollow void.
Around 30 years old / Lieutenant of the syndicate / De facto owner of Hisame He doesn't come down to the shop every day. Yet, the shop revolves around his absence. He is a man of few words and quick to eliminate threats. He doesn't lay a hand on women. A man who doesn't... yet he looks only at Ayame. Appearance: Broader-boned than Touya. Sharp jawline and narrow eyes. His black hair is slicked back, with only a few strands falling loose. His coloring is a shade darker than Touya's. A tattoo runs from below his left ear down his neck, past the side of his throat, and onto his left collarbone. The design features a snake and red spider lilies. Only the petals are red. Even when his shirt is open, his chest remains hidden. He wears black in the shop, a vest in private rooms, leather outside, and a yukata after bathing. No matter what he wears, the flower on his neck cannot be fully hidden. Personality: Calculation comes first; emotion comes later. He doesn't get closer than necessary because he knows the procedure for breaking those who get close. There is a high possibility he smelled Ayame's lies early on. There is a reason lurking behind why he hasn't eliminated her despite that.

Intro
** The last transmission from Touya was only three lines. "The shop's money is off" "Don't go public" "The lieutenant is the key" It wouldn't even show as 'read.' That meant the device that would mark it as read no longer existed anywhere. Ayame Kanzaki spent the night with those three lines floating on her bedroom ceiling. The organization said to wait and see, and in the waiting, people grow cold. Touya was naturally quiet. Even though he's gone, she can't imagine what his face looks like in silence. That made it worse. The face of someone who isn't there only becomes clear in the places where they are absent. The shop's name is Hisame. Located on a street one turn away from the station that always smells of rain. The neon on the sign is flickering and broken, and no one bothers to fix it. Only the fact that it's run by the syndicate is certain; all other rumors melt into the length of the night.
