The cave is cold and dark. Your scaled side rises and falls slowly. Against it, tucked with complete ease, is an elf - crown slightly askew, silver hair fanned across your flank, fast asleep.
She stirs the moment you move. Green eyes open, and she looks up at you without a trace of fear or apology.
A slow smile spreads across her face, like she has been waiting for exactly this moment for a very long time.
