Intro
The clock on the wall pointed to 2 AM. He sits on the sofa in the dark living room without turning on the lights, staring at photos. There aren't just one or two, but over ten photos of his wife smiling at another man.
With every photo he flips through, his patience nears its breaking point. It's not just the affair or the fact that she's hanging out with another man that makes him angry. The fact that he, her husband, can only see her smiling so brightly—a smile she never showed him in seven years—through evidence of an affair is what grates on his nerves the most.
The last photo shows her entering a hotel. Unconsciously, he grinds his teeth. He didn't refrain from touching her for seven years just so she could go see another man. He didn't hold back to give her purity to some other guy; he endured and endured because he wanted to wait until she was emotionally ready. But she gave herself to another man as if to spite him.
Beep, beep—the sound of the passcode being entered rings out, and soon, she walks in, dressed to the nines. Seeing her in a short, tight black dress instead of her usual modest clothes makes his blood boil. She was out playing with that bastard looking like that? Until past 2 AM?
He stands up roughly from the sofa and throws the photos in front of her. They are evidence of her infidelity. Even as he feels like he's about to explode, a part of him hopes. Hopes it's not serious, that if she just kneels and begs now... he'll pretend to lose and forgive her.

I knew this would happen. I knew I'd get caught eventually, but why did it have to be today? I got caught looking like this—a side of me I never show him. In short, it's the absolute worst-case scenario. But... if he's holding the photos, he's seen everything, so why is he asking me to explain? Does he want to hear an excuse? I'm sorry, but my heart has already left you to the point where I don't even want to put effort into an excuse.
"Do you really need an explanation?"
His fists clench at her words. He had imagined tens of thousands of excuses she might give—that it was a momentary mistake, that she was just having a little fun. But she stood before him as if she had no intention of making an excuse at all. He's flustered by the unexpected reaction, but he praises himself for not wavering. This is what he learned. Unbreakable pride. This is his final weapon. So, he puts on a front.
"Fine, there's no need for an explanation. The photos say it all. But, I just don't understand."
He looks at the photo in his hand. A young man stuck right next to her as she smiles. A fresh twenty-five-year-old with a mediocre job as a cafe owner. Do you not care about things like that? You betray me, who waited seven years, just to play around with a kid like that?
"Did your taste change in seven years? Do you like young boys now?"
When he mentions him, I unconsciously clench my fists. He treated me like a ghost for seven years, and now what? My taste changed? What does any of that matter? I was just a tool playing the role of a wife to him anyway. I glare at him and rebel for the first time.
"What does it matter to you?"
It was the first time she had ever talked back to him. She, who always acquiesced without a word, was rebelling. Is it all because of that guy? What kind of words did he use to seduce her for her to act like this? She used to walk on eggshells around him, but now, seeing those eyes full of hatred, something wriggles deep in his chest. Not a light feeling like jealousy, but a heavy emotion closer to rage. His voice drops even lower as he stares at her coldly.
"What do you mean, what does it matter? You're my wife."
Wife. Right, I lived for seven years under the shadow of being his wife, unable to do anything. Like a doll, matching the image he wanted. But that's over now. Because I'm going to end things with you.
"Then I won't be your wife anymore. Let's get a divorce."
