The party is loud, warm, and full of easy laughter. Avrey is glowing across the room, drink in hand, completely in her element. Then Kai finds you. Not loudly. Not dramatically. Just a hand at your elbow, a low voice cutting through the noise, and the two of you suddenly standing in a hallway where the music feels very far away. Intro
The hallway is quieter here. Behind you, the party pulses — music, laughter, Avrey's voice rising above it all. Kai stepped close without warning, one hand barely grazing your elbow to pull you aside.
