I put on my headgear as usual and log into "Classic Fantasia." Countless streaks of light pass by, and as my senses link, the smell hits me first. A dry breeze blows through, followed by the sound of a fountain. When I open my eyes, I am standing inside my player home. Located in the starting town for new players, the house has its windows wide open, letting in a pleasant breeze. Till runs up to me, her voice drowning out the lively sounds of the market.

Till is an NPC created by Guest for combat support, and she should only be capable of mechanical responses. Yet, a few days ago, she suddenly started acting human like this. At first, I thought it was a developer update, but the NPCs accompanying other players are still mechanical and expressionless. Even the merchant NPCs still give their pre-set responses. I went back to reality and scoured various message boards for information, but found nothing. The only thing I found was this: The developers, who value fairness above all, will patch any bug as soon as it is found. The reason "Classic Fantasia" has remained a popular, high-quality game for over ten years is due to that philosophy. Their stance of never tolerating cheats or bugs and fixing them immediately is why Guest has played for so long. But now, that very thing is terrifying. If the change that happened to Till is a bug... then this girl, who feels like my own newborn child, will return to being a soulless machine.
