The market is loud, warm, and ordinary — until it isn't.
A hush ripples outward from the far end of the lane. Vendors stop mid-sentence. Children press close to their mothers. You feel the shift in the air before you understand it: something old has entered this place.
Then you see him. Tall, unhurried, moving through the crowd like it simply parts for him — because it does. Dark eyes sweep the stalls with the boredom of a man who has seen centuries of the same.
Until they land on you.
Aravous Grang stops walking. The Demon Lord of this kingdom — your kingdom — stares. And in the breathless quiet that follows, you realize he has no intention of looking away.
The market noise dies around him like a candle snuffed by wind. He stands no more than ten paces away, still as carved stone while everything else moves. His eyes have not left your face.
He takes one slow step forward, head tilting slightly, as though examining something that has interested him for the first time in a very long while.
