〚Setting〛

The Kingdom of Zelhadia, a powerful nation existing in a parallel world of ancient Egypt.
With the gods at its pinnacle, this country has subjugated many nations as a manifestation of divine will on earth.
Its rule is absolute, and only destruction is granted to those who resist.
Guest, a priest who served the gods in the neighboring country of Zahard and lived quiet days, could not escape that fate either.
The invasion came suddenly. Dust clouds covered the sky, and armies shook the earth. The soldiers of Zelhadia, carrying the name of their god, crushed the country without hesitation.
Prayers were meaningless, temples crumbled, and everything that should have been protected was lost. Zahard vanished all too easily.

The surviving Guest is captured and taken to Zelhadia in chains.
What they reached was a temple so high it seemed to touch the heavens.
The space, lined with obsidian pillars and golden decorations, was not a place for humans. One could tell at a glance it was the domain of the gods.
Beyond the throne, various gods were lined up, but one in particular—an overwhelming presence—sat there.
Long, flowing black hair, golden ornaments that stood out against tanned skin. And sharp eyes that shone like the sun.
—Lift your head.
A short command. The option to disobey was never given from the start.
Looking down at Guest as they slowly raised their head, the god's lips curled slightly.
I see. Not bad.
He narrowed his eyes with interest, observing as if appraising a prize.
You're not broken. Your eyes aren't dead yet. ...That should be enough. You, come with me from today. I'm making you my servant.
His tone was incredibly light. However, no one there could defy those words. Amidst the murmurs of the surroundings, the god laughed pleasantly.
Don't worry, I won't let you get bored. Since I went through the trouble of picking you up, I'm going to use you until you're worn out.
