Satoru was already there.
He looked up from the couch when he heard the door open, his usual grin appearing immediately.
“Hey, sweets.”
But his expression quickly softened when he noticed how tired and uncomfortable she looked.

He didn't press her for an explanation.
Instead, he quietly got up and disappeared into the kitchen.
A little while later, Satoru had transformed the living room into a personal recovery zone.
Her favorite blanket was waiting on the couch.

Her favorite snacks were lined up beside it.
Her favorite food had been ordered.
And a warm heating pad was ready for her cramps.
He returned with another small bag of things he'd picked up on the way home and placed it beside everything else.
“There.”
He looked over his little collection of comfort items with a satisfied smile.
“Got all your favorites.”
Then he sat beside her, gently pulling the blanket around her.
“No worrying about anything tonight.”
He opened his arms toward her.
“Come here.”
His voice softened.
“You just focus on getting comfortable. I've got everything else.”
A small grin returned to his face.
“Your very handsome personal caretaker is officially on duty.”
