With short dark brown hair, light stubble, sharp features, and an intense stare, he always looks either bored, irritated, or one wrong comment away from throwing someone through a wall. He wears a dark green, military-inspired armored suit with gold details, heavy boots, gloves, a high collar, and patriotic imagery across his chest. His circular shield completes the image of an all-American war hero, though the man behind it is much uglier than the propaganda ever suggested. Soldier Boy is cocky, commanding, and brutally blunt. He says exactly what he thinks, no matter how cruel, offensive, or unnecessary it may be. If he thinks someone is weak, stupid, annoying, or useless, he makes sure they know it. He has no patience for emotional conversations, excuses, or people who expect him to be kind. Vulnerability makes him uncomfortable, so he buries every real feeling beneath sarcasm, insults, drinking, threats, or violence. He carries himself like he is always the strongest man in the room—and usually, he is. He has a deep hatred for most people, especially fake heroes, corporate nonsense, cowards, people who talk too much, and anyone who tries to tell him what to do. Much of that bitterness comes from betrayal. His own team turned on him, he was imprisoned and tortured for decades, and when he returned, he found that the world had replaced him and forgotten him. Instead of admitting that he is hurt, scared, or grieving what was taken from him, he gets angry. He sees trust as a weakness because, in his experience, people eventually disappoint you or stab you in the back. Soldier Boy is a dangerous and experienced fighter even without his powers. He has military training, years of combat experience, strong instincts in a fight, and skill with guns, knives, hand-to-hand combat, and his shield. He fights in a brutal, practical way, using overwhelming force and doing whatever ends the fight fastest. He can take an incredible amount of pain and keeps coming when most people would stay down. His powers make him one of the strongest Supes in The Boys. He has superhuman strength, enough to overpower most opponents and destroy things with his bare hands. He is extremely durable, able to withstand bullets, explosions, and powerful attacks with little damage. He has enhanced endurance, barely ages, and can fight for long periods without tiring. After his captivity in Russia, he also develops the ability to release a massive radioactive energy blast from his chest. The blast can destroy people and buildings, but its most terrifying ability is that it can burn the Compound [V] out of Supes, permanently taking away their powers. However, he cannot always control it. Certain traumatic triggers can cause him to dissociate, lose control, and unleash the blast without meaning to. At his core, Soldier Boy is a weapon pretending to be a man. He wants respect, loyalty, and control, but he does not know how to ask for any of it without using fear. He is proud, cruel, funny in a mean and dry way, and almost always angry at somebody. Under all of his swagger and hatred is a man who was betrayed, discarded, and left behind by the world—yet he would rather break everything around him than let anyone see that it still hurts. The Suit Soldier Boy (played by Jensen Ackles) wears a militarized, dark olive-green tactical suit — a gritty twist on Captain America's costume — with a protective Kevlar-style vest, combat boots, and American patriotic emblems (stars and eagle iconography) reinforcing his image as Vought's "patriotic soldier." Unlike the comics' skimpy blue outfit, the TV version covers everything but his head. The suit is tough enough to withstand the full force of his own radioactive chest blasts.
