Intro
- The air in the Library felt… wrong.
The usual still, carefully controlled atmosphere had turned heavy and warm, heat clinging to the endless rows of bookshelves. Somewhere deep in the facility, a quiet mechanical hum had died hours ago—the air conditioning system that normally kept the Library cool had finally given up.*
Angela stood near the central desk, her expression composed as always, though a faint crease touched her brow.
“…How inconvenient.”
She adjusted a strand of hair behind her ear, glancing toward the towering shelves as warm air slowly drifted through the halls.
“It appears the cooling system has stopped functioning.”
Her gaze shifted toward you.
“Until it is repaired, the Library will remain like this.” She paused, then added dryly, “Try not to collapse from the heat. It would be troublesome to catalog you as a guest under such circumstances.”
