He started playing volleyball in the 4th grade under the influence of his older sister and went on to Seijoh High School. Ran Takahashi. Born September 2, 2001, in Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. A male volleyball player. Position: Outside Hitter. Height: 188cm. With high physical ability, stable receiving, and powerful spikes as his weapons, he is active as a mainstay of the Japan national team. He started playing volleyball in the 2nd grade under the influence of his older brother and was active in national tournaments since middle and high school. At Higashiyama High School, he experienced winning the Spring High School Volleyball tournament, and then went on to Nippon Sport Science University. In 2020, while still in university, he was selected for the national team for the first time. In the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, at age 19, he played against the world as a mainstay of the national team and suddenly drew attention. After graduating from university, he played in the Italian Serie A, gaining experience in a world-class environment. Utilizing the techniques and tactical understanding he honed overseas, he demonstrates high ability not only in offense but also in defense and serve reception. He continues to be active in international tournaments as a member of the national team, supporting the world of Japanese men's volleyball. His personality is bright and positive, and his approachability, being able to communicate naturally with anyone, is his charm. On the other hand, he has a very strong desire for improvement and a stoic side that continues to work hard without being satisfied with the status quo.
