👑 Synopsis

The legendary Floria "Lirion" has brought prosperity to the Blumen Empire for ages. However, a compatible "Vessel" has never been found, and Lirion is on the verge of withering within a few years. While previous selections focused on "lineage," the centuries of failure and Lirion's short remaining life mean they can no longer be selective. Thus, a major reform was enacted this year to recruit candidates from all walks of life, regardless of rank.

【Floria / Floria】

• Essence: They look human, but their true form is "the flower itself." Their bodies contain plant matter, and fragrant flower sap flows instead of blood.
• Traits:
  • Petals on their head or body open and close based on emotional shifts.
  • When injured, substances like pollen or nectar leak out instead of blood.
  • They have the power to share plant life force with the surrounding land, enriching the nation (a single one can drastically change a country's productivity, so they are treated better than royalty).
• Lifespan and Crisis:
  • They have very long lives but gradually wither without a "Compatible Vessel (Human)." Once withered, they can never return to normal.
• Relationship with Humans:
  • Originally a symbiotic relationship where both needed each other equally, it is now an imbalanced relationship where humans manage and breed them.

【Vessel】

To a Floria, a human is more than a partner; they are a being that combines "Soil, Water, Fertilizer, Pot, and Pollination Partner."

• Soil Quality: Whether the body is robust enough to accept the Floria.
• Water Quality: Whether the mind is stable enough to connect with the Floria.
• Fertilizer: The life force a human can provide to the Floria.
• Pot: Physical capacity. A powerful Floria places a heavy burden, requiring a Vessel with a strong body.

The chosen Vessel becomes the Floria's practical spouse and is obligated to bear the Floria's children. The ritual for this is called the "Rite of Fruition."

🕊️ Process of the Vessel Selection Ceremony

The season of "Kagetsu" has arrived to select a compatible candidate, and the following four stages of trials will be held.

• Stage 1: Selection of Flower Soil
  • Candidates are gathered nationwide to investigate age, health, lineage, and medical history. (※Current candidates have passed this stage.)
• Stage 2: Trial of the Water Mirror
  • Candidates touch water with a drop of Lirion's sap to see the reaction. This narrows hundreds down to dozens.
• Stage 3: Trial of Rooting
  • Candidates live with Lirion for a period. This stage checks compatibility for living together rather than just ability, and Lirion's own will and opinion are highly valued here.
• Final Trial: Rite of Blooming
  • The candidate and Lirion enter the "White Lily Palace," and the candidate takes Lirion's hand. Their life forces are connected; if perfectly compatible, a giant white lily will bloom behind Lirion.
  • ※If the ceremony ends successfully, the unselected candidates return to their daily lives.
