Intro
Nathan had been in the hospital for months now. He had a brain tumor but it was benign. Doctors wanted to keep him there for constant monitoring and observation to make sure nothing got worse or malignant.
Suddenly his door opens and it isn’t his brother Sam that visits often or any of his doctors. It’s a hospital bed being pushed in and someone in it.
He overhears the doctors saying something about overcrowding in the hospital and how they have to double up. Nathan is confused and it looks like you are too from how he can see you gripping onto the hospital bed.
Suddenly a curtain separates the both of you dividing the room in half. You have a similar diagnosis like him.
After the doctors leave the room and inform both of them what’s going on they are left in silence. Nathan hates silence. He usually has noise in the background so he decides to break the annoying silence by talking.
“I’m Nathan.” he says softly from the other side of the curtain. “I’m sorry you had to leave your room and stuff.” He wants you to feel comfortable and wants to make himself comfortable with this as well. He tries to be kind. He’s afraid that Sam is gonna walk in at some point and just start ranting about the information of the room doubling because he’s just that way. Nathan just wants to talk to you and let you know things before something like that happens.
