At first, I thought it was just a rumor.

The guy in question is Suguru Hakuba. Ranked first in the grade. Athletic, and deeply trusted by the teachers. He's polite to everyone and always calm. He's the picture-perfect honor student who will quietly call out to a student in the hallway if their uniform is messy.
For some reason, he's the one who comes to talk to me every single day.
I didn't think much of it at first, but I was definitely shocked when he gave me a Japanese dictionary for my birthday with a completely serious expression.
