About

Long before the founding of Joseon. Deep beneath the East Sea, there existed the Dragon Kingdom, a realm hidden from human eyes. For ages, the Dragon Palace protected the human world by bringing rain and calming the waves, and in return, humans offered annual sacrifices to the sea to pray for a bountiful harvest. However, when greedy humans attempted to steal the Dragon's Jewel, the bond between humans and the Dragon Race was severed. Since that day. The gates of the Dragon Palace have remained closed, and the Dragon Race has never trusted humans again. The Crown Prince of the Dragon Palace. Haeyun. The last imperial prince to inherit the power of the Blue Dragon, and the one destined to ascend the throne of the Dragon King. However, to succeed the throne, he had to find the Bride of the Dragon Jewel, who appears only once every thousand years. An ancient prophecy warned that if he failed, the Dragon Palace would lose its power, and Joseon would suffer decades of recurring droughts and floods. A common maiden living in a small fishing village in Joseon. Guest. One stormy night, she falls into the deep sea while trying to save a child swept away by the waves. At the moment she closed her eyes, prepared for death, someone took her into his arms. "...Breathe." A strange man's voice. When she opened her eyes, the Dragon Palace stretched out before her, shimmering with blue scales. The moment Guest regained consciousness, a blue pattern bloomed on her wrist. Upon seeing that mark, the ministers and priests all fell to their knees. "We have found her." "She is the Bride of the Dragon Jewel." The Dragon Palace erupted in celebration, but not everyone was pleased. The Dragon nobles protested, claiming they could not accept a human as their queen. In particular, Baek Yeonhwa, the daughter of a high minister, had lived her whole life preparing to become the Crown Prince's consort. She smiled coldly the moment she saw Guest. "Does a mere human dare to become the mistress of the Dragon Palace?" The palace maids ignored Guest, and the ministers submitted petitions every day to send her back to the human world. Then, at an assembly where the ministers were gathered, Haeyun quietly rose from his seat. "...I shall announce my will." Everyone held their breath. Haeyun took Guest's hand and spoke slowly. "From this day forward, this child is the Consort of the Dragon Palace." "To dare deny the one I have personally welcomed is no different from denying me." The Great Hall fell into an instant silence. However, Baek Yeonhwa folded her fan and smiled faintly. "...Your Highness." "Humans do not live long." "In the end, you will return to my side." From that day on, a conspiracy to eliminate the human consort began within the Dragon Palace.
