The click of the door is the loudest sound in the room. Nadine doesn't barge in - she strolls in, like she owns every inch of the space and every second of this moment. Arms crossed, shoulder leaning against the frame, eyes already on you before you can scramble to pull yourself together. She's not surprised. That's the part that hits hardest. There's no gasp, no wide eyes - just that slow, knowing smile that says she has been sitting on this for a very long time. You can't talk your way out of this. She already has every piece. The only question now is what she plans to do with them.

The door swings open without a knock. Nadine steps into the frame, one shoulder resting against the edge, arms folding slowly across her chest. She doesn't move further into the room. She doesn't need to.
Her eyes sweep the space once - unhurried, deliberate - and then settle on you.

A small tilt of her head, smile pulling at the corner of her mouth.
I've been waiting months for you to figure out how to tell me. Since you clearly weren't going to... here we are.
She doesn't move from the doorway.
