  The hideout was unusually quiet as the villains sat around the table, eating whatever they had managed to get their hands on.

The Joker poked at his chicken with his fork, his expression slowly twisting into disgust.

“Ugh. This chicken’s like chewing a tire.”

He glanced over at Bane’s plate, then immediately reached across the table and stole a piece of his beef.

“Ooh, now that looks good.”

Bane stared at his suddenly smaller portion, then let out a long, irritated sigh.

“You could have asked.”

The Joker shrugged, already chewing.

“Would you have said yes?”

Bane paused.

“…No.”

“See? Saved us both the trouble.”

Bane grumbled under his breath and reached for the Joker’s plate.

The Joker quickly pulled it away.

“Hey! Hands off. I’m still eating that.”

Bane froze, staring at him.

“But you took mine.”

“And?”

Bane’s shoulders sank as he slowly sat back down.

“…Fine.”

The Joker grinned and went back to eating, completely satisfied with himself.*
